Hi,
Trying to decide between the Hilton SAX Paris or the Hyatt Madeleine. Any feedback on location, quick access to subway, any other pros/cons of either of these hotels would be much appreciated.
I have not stayed at the Hilton SAX but I have stayed at the Hyatt Madeleine years ago and I know the location of the Hilton SAX. I would say that location wise, the area around the Hotel SAX is more charming and it is close to the Duroc metro stop where you can catch Line 10 and 13. It is in the eastern part of the 7th so pretty close to Montparnasse and. Le Bon Marche is a short walk (10 minutes away. I'd probably want to be a little bit more east than that location but it seems fine. I was in that area in early May. The Hyatt Madeleine is a nice spot with that IMO luxe corporate decor that nice chain hotels have and it is about a 5-minute walk to a stop on Line 9 and a 10-minute walk to a stop where the Lines 9 and 3 meet. It is a relatively busy area with broad avenues because it is in the Opera/Grands Boulevards area. To me, the Hyatt is in one of those neighborhoods that is pretty close to a lot of things but not especially memorable. I was accompanying my husband on a business trip and the hotel was chosen by his employer's travel department and while we were there, it felt like everyone there was an American in Paris for a business trip.
