Hello, we can see trees on the hills that would certainly offer shade, but are there hiking trails that may be shaded? Challenging trails are fine. Online search did not show much. Thank you for any replies! * I did ask this in the another thread but because of the different subject line I decided to start a dedicated thread
Gorges de la Vésubi, Located in the Mercantour National Park, about an hour's drive from Nice, the Gorges de la Vésubie offers scenic hiking trails with shaded sections. Parc du Mont Boron, located just east of Nice, Parc du Mont Boron offers several hiking trails through a forested area. The trails wind through lush vegetation, providing shade along the way. From the top of Mont Boron, you can enjoy panoramic views of Nice and the coastline.
Remember to prepare for your hikes by wearing appropriate footwear, bringing water, and checking the trail conditions and any safety guidelines. It's also advisable to consult local tourist information centres or hiking guides for the most up-to-date information on trails, as conditions and accessibility may vary. Good luck for your next hiking.
Not hilly, but Iles de Lérins (Ile Ste Marguerite) are wooded and make for a lovely outing in the heat. I believe there are boats from Nice, otherwise from Cannes.
