Hiking in France

We are planning a hike in France in mid to late May. Looking at 3 options:
1) High Provence, near Moustiers
2) Dijon/Burgundy area
3) Dordogne

Looking for tips on which 2 of these 3 would be best for budget oriented village to village hikes. Also any special sights to see. We have been to Provence before, but only for a few days near Rousolone.

Lonely planet has a good set of 'walking' guides, including walking in France. It may be out of print but you can likely buy it cheap online used. They are good.

Are you intending to backpack from village to village with all your luggage on your back? Or are you intending to follow a predetermined route with luggage transfer and accommodation pre-booked?

It sounds like you need the Topo Guide for Les Sentiers de grande randonnée (long-distance hiking paths). You've chosen three interesting areas, but what you need to know is what lodging is available in each village (hotel, hostel, youth center, farmer's barn, etc.)
So, you should do an internet search for GR or Les Sentiers de grande randonnée, or grande randonée guidebook. Once you have the book, possible lodging is listed for the path you choose. Bonne marche.
