Hertz Paris pick-up location

Hello,

Between these two Hertz locations, any thoughts on which would be more convenient/better for picking up a car on a Monday morning in June, headed towards Beaune?

Gare du Nord Railway Station or Gare de L'Est Railway Station

Thank you.

Gee, they're walking distance from each other. Shouldn't you be be looking around Gare de Lyon, at least heading in the right direction out of town?
Question is where exactly you go to pick up the car. The offices are in the stations, but pick up will be outside somewhere.

Hello Sam,

Thanks for the quick response. My daughter who recently moved to Paris and is learning her way around mentioned these two locations; that said, she probably was just guessing. Sounds like your idea of Gare de Lyon might be a better bet, in terms of it being better located for our escape. That's just the sort of feedback I was hoping for.

Thank you.

Flip a coin between Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord because it makes no difference for a trip to Beaune. There is a Hertz near Place d'Italie. That might be a better location for a pick up heading to Beaune.

Yes, there is a Hertz by Gare de Lyon, in the building immediately south, connected to the station by a pedestrian bridge. There is a parking garage in the building, where I suspect the cars are. Two rights and a left out of the garage and you're on the the A-4 heading in the right direction.

Exits to A6 (A4 goes to Strasbourg) are easiest from near Gare Montparnasse but you can avoid a possible pickup surcharge, up to 45€ for train stations, by picking up at any in town office.

My personal choice is to at least get out of town using the train, then pick something up along the way. If you have lots of stops on the way to Beaune, check out a train to your first planned stop and rent from there. I don't enjoy driving in city traffic, if I can avoid it. So a train to the first place I need a car, and dropping when I don't need it any longer, works well for me.

Sam is right, Gare de Lyon is very easy in/out of Paris, just follow the river to the Peripherique.

A-4 east to A-86 south to N-6 south to A-5 south to A-19 to A-6 south direct to Beaune. N6 has a few stop lights along the way. Don't try this at afternoon rush hour.
Alternate, stay on the A-86 to the A-6B south to the A-6 south.
