Hertz location on outskirts of Paris on way to Chartres?

After my teens and I spend a few days in Paris in June, I want to rent a car to drive out to Normandy for a few days. We'll be staying near St. Germain des Pres in Paris, and our first step outside metropolitan Paris will be Chartres. Can anyone recommend the Hertz location that would put us in a good position to -- without too much hassle -- get on the road to Chartres?

Hertz at Massy TGV station would be my recommendation.
It is a straight shot on the RER B from St Michel - Notre Dame to Massy-Palaiseau (30-40 min on the train), and from there it is very easy to get on the A10 down to Chartres.
Versailles-Chantiers is another option, but it is not as convenient.
I have never tried any of these options myself, but I am not expecting any difficulties.

Another thing to consider would be taking the train to Chartres, and then, when you are ready to leave Chartres, and renting a car at the Hertz there.

(But it depends on what dates you need; the Hertz in Chartres is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. They also take a two-hour lunch break on weekdays. So it may not be convenient for you. Just an idea.)

(And sorry to answer your question not with the actual response to your question, but with an alternate idea. Luckily the first two responses did actually answer your question ! )
