Three of us are traveling around France for a month, and when I started adding up the admission price for the various abbeys, cathedrals, museums, and other historic sites we plan to see I'm worried about the cost. I've seen the "Duo Heritage Pass" advertised at a couple sites but can't find a list of the monuments the pass covers. Has anyone used the Duo Heritage Pass or does anyone know of a pass you can purchase akin to Britain's Oversees Visitors Pass?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Most of the sites are individually owned, and not part of a national scheme. The nearest equivalent to English Heritage is National Monuments, which has 94 properties, many of which you will never have heard of. https://www.monuments-nationaux.fr They do an annual membership card.
There is no equivalent to the National Trust.
