Our current plan involves returning our rental car to CDG the morning of 4/21, then getting the TGV to Strasbourg that same day. We will have purchased advanced train tickets (shortly). Questions: will there be issues with the rental staff working that Monday? Would there be problems with the train / schedule that day also? Moving our total schedule around is our least favorite option. Thanks!

What rental company? Most rental companies will be open if the airport has flights arriving or leaving. Go to the airport website and look at the details of the company you are renting from: https://www.parisaeroport.fr/en/passengers/access/car-rental
There will be trains running, but it is too early to book them yet. You can go to the SNCF website and set an alert to be notified when they become bookable.

Train tickets are available. Monday after Easter will be a high traffic day, so book now.

Thanks, Elizabeth, for putting a fire under me to book.....we are now set with TGV to Strasbourg. And will double check with rental co on staffing on 4/21.
