Hello. 4 of us lady friends ( 60-75 ) are going to Provence for 8 days in September. We are in Arles for 3 nights then Aix en Provence for another 3 nights. The big decision is whether to spend the last couple of nights in Avignon or Montpellier ?
Our interests are architecture, some history, art museums, food and sitting in outdoor cafes 'people watching'. Beaches aren't important but we could go to one if it was highly recommended.
We will not be driving but are looking for either public transport and/or a guide with a SUV.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
hey golfing
are you flying within europe or to USA to go home and which airport do you fly out of? will you be going somewhere after provence?
aloha
With 8 days you might stick with the two towns you already have so you are not moving to another hotel. Avignon can easily be reach by train on a daytrip from Arles and Aix, At the town Tourist Information or your hotel you can easily arrange a guided tour via SUV to some of the beautiful hard to reach places like Gordes, Les Baux, Rousillon, Pont du Gard etc. on either a half or full day.
princess pupule, we are taking the train from Paris to Arles after spending a few days in Paris.
After our stay in Provence we'll return to Paris for a day before flying back home.
Jazz+ Travels, Thank you for your suggestion. We may just do that.
