hi, we are a young couple traveling with a car, NEXT WEEK planning to spend 2 or 3 days in the area of Chamonix (at least 2 full days and possibly 3 ) .
what would you recommend, what are the highlights you would recommend in the area?
we thought about doing 1 day the cable car aiguilles du midi - is it a must to prebook online the cable cars?
is there a possibility to do a small hike and sleep in a cabin on the mountain (were interested in light hiking for a few hours), if so will they still have a place if we didnt book in advance for (next week?). i read somewhere you can take a train to one of the villages and sleep there? is this something you would recommend or could shed some light into?
or is there a better way to spend 2-3 days in the area ?....
pretty lost would appreciate any advice....
