Help wardrobe planning for Rick Steves Loire Valley in late Sep to early Oct

I'll be doing the Loire Valley tour beginning Sept. 28 through October 10 and would love some advice about what clothing to pack. I want to wear my favorite comfy booties with tights, skirts, tees, a cardy and scarf. I'm worried it will be too warm in Nice early October for tights and booties. I have only been to Europe in summer so I have no idea what to expect. I know weather is unpredictable these days, but what do you think?

I was in those areas in Sept/Oct 2023 and I wore summer clothes: skirts, capris, tees, etc. It got warmer as you went further south.

I would plan for fairly warm weather. We were in Provence and Paris , your exact time frame in 2023, and had 80 degrees most days.

I don't particularly remember 2023, but it may have been an anomaly if people had to wear what we consider in the south of France summer clothes: sandals, linen dresses, wide-brimmed hats.

For Nice in early October, tights and booties will be a bit warm. In early October, we're transitioning to closed-toe shoes, jean-weight pants, and t-shirts with colorful blouses over the tees, visor hat or smaller hat. This is between-season clothes.
But it's good that you are prepared in case you have some cool days up north in the Loire. One October, I had to buy a pair of gloves at Monoprix. You never know.

My experience in Paris 2022. I arrived late September and it semed everyone was still basically in summer type clothing. I left Paris and when I returned October 7, suddenly I saw a lot fall colors, sweaters, blazers and booties even though day temps were similar, in the 60s.
