Help: Traveling to Paris : June13-17 Eiffel online tickets are sold out for those dates

Hello:

Im seeking help about how to make the most of the visit during 4 days ... and avoid long lines at the main attractions.
I am now checking the Tour Eiffel Tower online tickets and there is no availability.

Are buying tickets via a tour then the way to go..? I am not sure how to beat the lines....and I thought I could still buy those tickets online.

Also, any suggestions for Louvre Museam and Versailles? It looks like the Museams are closed on Tuesdays and I leave on Wed . So, I can go only on Sat, Sunday or Monday.

Please let me know what I can do about the Tour Eiffel tower.

Regards,

Hi Rosie, if you get a chance, take a look at the section on the Eiffel Tower in Rick's Paris or France guidebook. he will give some alternatives if you can't get tickets online. One suggestion would be to wait until about a week before you trip as cancellations occasionally open up. If you are not stuck on going all the way to top or taking the elevator, you can buy a ticket when you get there to just walk the stairs. Having done that twice its a good way to work off a big dinner, costs less than a normal ticket, and the line is usually shorter than the regular line. I gauged it myself last time at a rather leisurely pace and it took me about 20 minutes to the 2nd level. If you wanted to go to the very top, you would need a reservations in advance. In my opinion, I think the view from the second level is a little better than the top anyway. I hope this helps some.

I think it depends on how flexible your schedule can be. There are tour companies, the same ones who snatch up the tickets within minutes of tickets going on sale, who do provide a specific entry time. You will pay a premium, but if knowing a specific time is important to your plans, I suggest you consider this option.

Hello,

I only have 4 days in Paris. I was thinking on doing Eiffel tower on June 13. I can also do it on June 14 or 15. But, neither of those days are available. In fact I do not find tickets at all in the entire month of June. Has anyone have a recommendation for a tour company there . I may have to pay premium. I see some offer a cruise on the River. Is this worth the money? Has anyone ever had to do this. I feel so stupid not to have purchase my tickets online in advance. I am traveling with my son ( 17) and daughter 14. Now, I am thinking that I may need to book the museum pass... But, do teens pay at Louvre and Orsay ? So, any recommendation on tours companies for the Eiffel? and is it worth it to pay premium? Do I have a chance if I get to the Tower early on Sunday or Monday? about 9 am? Do I have a chance to buy tickets all the way to the top via elevator. My sister is also going and I can try the stairs, but I am not sure how she will handle it.

Thanks,

It is far too late to book for June as all the tickets go in the first minutes of being available several months out.

You can join a back scene tour or other tour at a ridiculous price. I find it shameful that the authorities cater to scalpers but they do.

You always have the option of getting in line to get tickets, it's just that some people can't stand the idea of waiting in line. I have no problem with it. Try to get there as early as possible before it opens at 9:00. If that doesn't work for you then try going in the evening, the lines are almost always shorter then.

Hi Rosie, you could try a Behind the Scenes tour with Get Your Guide. There are various options, some very reasonably priced for a tour and skip the lines ticket to the 2nd floor.

Or, since you'll be in Paris for several days, walk by and check out the lines. We are in Paris now and at 6:30 pm today there were only about 10 people in the regular line for tickets. I think it's something special that you will want to experience.

Hello :

Thank you all for replies.

This is a dream trip for me and the idea of not going all the way to the top is not possible. Who knows when I will be able to come back. Perhaps I will be able to, but It is one of those must do things for me.

I will get into paris around 1 pm on Saturday and will see how big the line is. If not, I am sure I can book a tour and pay the premium.

Thank you all. I am so excited for my trip!

Hello ,

I have one more quick question. If I buy my ticket there and the line is o bad... Do their ticket allow to go all the way to the top? Or is the ticket only to go to the second observation deck..? Can I still go UP to the top via elevator? That is what I would like to know.

When you buy your ticket you state whether it's for the top or for the 2nd level. It's the same ticket line for both. The only different line is to walk the stairs up to the 2nd level, you can either stay there or buy a ticket from there to the top via elevator.
