Help planning 4.5 days in Paris?

Hello everyone!

I'll be in Paris in the next coming weeks, but unfortunately at wonky times — I arrive in Paris around 2pm on July 21, and have to catch a train to London on July 25 at about 5pm. I've been loving the Rick Steve's Paris guide, but the planning is for 1-3 days, or 5-7; 4.5 (or so) is fairly tricky.

Do any of you have any tips for how and what to see, and in what order and times, given our time constraints? Also, were staying in the Rue Cler area. Thanks in advance for your help!

You do not say how or where you are arriving from, but you really have just 3 full days, 22, 23,& 24 and only part of 21st and 25th.

If the RS guide has a 3 day plan you are set up pretty well. Look at the 5 day plan and see what one or two extra activities or sites might fit into your partial days.

I would use Rick's plan for 1 to 3 days, leaving 1.5 days free to hit a couple of things you found out about while there or to simply wander around and spend time cafe-sitting and people watching. You could also stretch Rick's 3 day plan to fill the full 4.5 days, leaving open times for the aforementioned mentioned wandering, sitting, and watching.

You do not need to plan every minute of your visit. Leave some time to be spontaneous.
