I am a 26yo visiting Paris for 30 hours and flying in tomorrow. Any tips on must sees other than Eiffel Tower? I haven't planned or bought tickets for anything so please let me know what I can reasonably do in a day + a second morning. Interests are food, shopping (looking for cheaper longchamp Le pliage or decent Louis Vuitton lookslikes), and major sites. Thanks!
Hi Ann, you don't have a lot of time in Paris so you'll need to focus on one of two of your must-sees. If the ET is on your list, cruise by and check out the lines. Maybe add Notre Dame Cathedral and one other museum (D'Orsay?). Can't help you with the shopping, but hopefully someone else will chime in. Have a wonderful time!

Ann, whatever you do, please don't buy knockoffs (fakes) off the street. It's illegal to do that, and you could get yourself into a lot of trouble if checked at customs.
W hile walking from eiffel t to notre dame u can enjoy the walk along the seine river and crossing the gorgeous bridges. Make sure u experience cafe creme and a pastry at a sidewalk cafe along the way.
Bon voyage.
Agree with Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. If you enjoy museums, it might be worth checking one out for a few hours. I would suggest the Orsay, beautiful museum and its much smaller and more manageable than the Louvre. I would recommend a walk along the Seine, crossing over bridges, and just taking in the sights of Paris! Stop at a sidewalk cafe for lunch or a glass of wine. As far as shopping goes, Champs de elysses is a nice stroll with lots of shopping, and the way to the arc de triomph if you have interest in that. Otherwise, check our Galleries Lafayette. Absolutely stunning department store, and I'm pretty sure they had several Longchamp shops inside.
ann,
At this time of year, getting a ticket for the Eiffel Tower will likely involve waiting in a queue for a LONG time. It's probably too late to pre-book one, so that won't be an option. Visiting Museums like the Orsay or Louvre will also involve long queues to buy a ticket, so be sure to include the waiting time when deciding what to see. I might consider buying a two-day Paris Museum Pass at the airport, as that will minimize your time waiting in queues and will provide a good range of places to see.
Eat a crepe from a street stand. View the Eiffel Tower from across the Seine or from a river cruise or from the base of the tower if you can't get a ticket without spending hours in line. Enjoy! You're in Paris!!
Take a bike tour with Blue Bike or Fat Bike. You'll see many of the great sites, learn a little about the city, get some sunshine and excersize which is great if you are just arriving. They stop at a great street market for a quick lunch if you do the morning tour.
As for buying cheap knockoffs, you can find them in any major city. Shopping at the begining of your trip means lugging it around for the rest of your trip. As for wanting to own a fake anything, I'll save my disdain and let someone else have at it.
You have been posting on this forum for over a month and the day before you are asking this question? I have a feeling I just wasted my time in replying.
For other readers looking for suggestions for a short stay. Take an inexpensive tour on city bus no. 69 and a boat cruise up the Seine to see a good part of the city in one day. Walk along the banks of the Seine and get a crepe.
Hey, maybe annchopepper will share her experience with us! Hope it was fun! :-)
We haven't heard back from the original poster, but for those still contributing I remind you that her fake brand search was to have been only for one day, and that was the 9th of June.
She's left Paris now (unless she was arrested for buying counterfeits).
