help needed for Brittany accommodation/where to stay, with car?

we are looking for a place to stay as a base to visit the area around Dinard/ St Malo/MSM etc (mid June 2017) for a few nights/days
we will be driving up from Carnac ( on the 16th) and will stop off at Josselin spend as much time as able then drive towards Dinan/Dinard Then spend 3 nights ( 16 -18th) really only 2 days.
we need to leave from Dinan/DInard on the 19th and drive over to Giverny. so we could do this drive in the late afternoon of the 19th. as we have the whole of the 20th to visit the gardens/Giverny.

The question is where to stay as a base to look around at Dinard/St Malo, then see MSM ( guessing on the afternoon of the 18th ?) also where is it best to stay to visit MSM if you have a car?
as a guide we were thinking of looking around Dinard and perhaps a ferry? to St Malo ( on the 17th)
generally interested in seeing some of the coastal towns and different building styles etc. ( at this part of the trip we will have been travelling for 7 weeks, so will have seen a lot of variety, in different countries)

any suggestions much appreciated.

Where did you decide to stay near Carnac? I'm having trouble settling on a town.

I stayed in St Malo inside the wall at a very nice B & B and the parking is outside the wall, about a seven minute walk.We day tripped to Dinan,a very nice town and then went down to the Rance River below the town.St Malo is very close to Mt St Michel and Cancale the Oyster Capital.

In September 2015 we stayed a few nights at the hotel Manoir de Rigourdaine. (It might be a Rick rec; don't recall). It is about midway between Dinan and St Malo and was convenient for touring several sights. A car is a must. It is a new facility, in a bucolic setting among fields and overlooking, distantly, the river. The owner was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our time there. We also visited MSM and Cancale, but not Dinard. Spent one day on a beautiful drive around Cap Frehel. Safe travels.

I stayed at this b&b in the small hamlet of Roz Landrieux, near Dol de Bretagne, about half way between St Malo and MSM. Breakfasts were great. Sylvie was wonderful. Room was comfortable. What I liked best was the building itself, parts from the 13th and 16th centuries, and the grounds. It's in the country so quiet and peaceful in the evenings. Car necessary. From there I visited St Malo, Dinan, Dinard, Josselin, and Fougeres. Josselin was the farthest but still well under 2 hrs. I loved it and have recommended it often.

Nancy,
Do you know if they have WIFI? I did not see it listed on the website. We have become quite dependent on it when traveling to plan our next day.
Happy New Year

Renee, actually when I was there in 2012 I was not depending on wifi as much as I am now so I can't really answer that question. Best bet would be to contact them directly. I have an email address but it was from 2012 ([email protected]), otherwise their phone # is on the website.
