Help in spending a long cruise stop in Le Havre

We are seniors in our early seventies with a long cruise stop in the port Le Havre in mid April. We have not visited this northern area of France. We were thinking of spending a leisurely 5-6 hours in Honfluer or perhaps it and another city. The ship is in port around nine hours. We would not be driving and would like recommendations on a day tour or other options to get there from the port where the ship docks.

The last time we were in LeHavre we took the bus to Etretat. A lovely, lovely French seaside village famous for the setting for many impressionist painters. Think white cliffs of Dover. Took bus - an hour or so - great ride through the country side. Took most of the day and returned to the center of LeHavre.

We booked an Overlord Tour for 8 with a group on our cruise critic "role call" from our ship. It was a great private tour, they picked us up and drove to Normandy and got us back with no issues. Our almost 90 yr old dad who served in WWII wanted to see the beaches. It was a perfect day tour if you have not been there. Overlord is a great company and gets very, very good reviews.

There are only 4 to 6 buses a day from Le Harve to Honfleur. You might want to consider taking a taxi instead. Honfleur is a charming seaside village, but if it's raining, it loses most of its allure. You might want to consider other options if the weather is bad.
