I am in Paris now and I need to buy shoes. My Ecco's are failing me, and I am shocked! They have never failed me before! This is day one and I am not going to make it at this rate. What can I get here and where? I am a female with size 11 foot. Desperate for ideas. Don't want to spoil the remainder of my trip.

Just walk into the nearest shoe shop. But you need to know your size. US 11 = European 45 (approximately).
Did you try Monoprix?
The two department stores, Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, both have large shoe departments. There is a large shoe store also on Blvd. Hausseman between the two dept stores. There is an Ecco store near there too, if you look it up on the internet.
In France you buy Mephisto. There's a store on Rue Cler.

There's Mephistos in the two dept stores along with a lot of other brands.

It's located in the Marais. The same thing happened to me, my shoes fell apart and across the street from my tour of the Marais was Rudy's. My shoes are amazing, comfortable, and totally French.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I went to the Mephisto store Wednesday and have new shows. Voila! I am in good walking shape now. Walking in Paris in the rain! Tres Bon.
