help finding a private guide with transportation for a visit to Montmarte in third week in May

Hello. My daughter and two grandaughters will be taking a short detour to Paris, from our London visit, in mid-May. The they are very interested in spending some time in Montmarte/SacreCoeur. Probably an early start, some touring of the area, and lunch would be lovely. Does anyone know a private tour guide who could help us out with this "last minute" request? I have been to Paris several times, but as time has passed my mobility, while good, is no "up to speed" especially for longer periods. So private transportation is required. Age, you know. Thanks for any suggestions, Pam

hey hey ptherz5878
will give you some options, your decision to email them about private guides and costs which will be higher.
is your family staying in paris and where & how many days?
how old are your granddaughters, many tours serve wine but change it to a soft drink. my traveling friend and I took a taxi cab to Sacre Coeur then walked our way around to place du tertre where the artists are. had a portrait done, bought small painting of the area. many shops/cafes, down to moulin rouge. wear comfy shoes, loose pants, bring water to keep hydrated.

montmarte food tour. one of my favorite places to see. on a mission for French onion soup, found it at La maison rose below the plaza

montmarte walking food tour. ask where it begins & ends, we took taxi back, easy to hail on streets with red light on and to us not that much

whatever you decide, have your daughter research what suits all involved, enjoy & have great time

Thank you so much. I'm sure I'll find something. Granddaughters are college students so not many limitations. Thanks again!

Montmartre is steep and hilly and a private guide with transport is not going to be able to park easily. You could take a cab from train station to Montmartre but once there I am not sure how a guide with transport manages if there are mobility issues. There is the petit train for viewing the hills while seated but it is not a friendly area for those with mobility issues.

Download the G7 taxi app (or granddaughters) to take you there. They drop you off. Enjoy the view. Go into Sacre coeur if desired. There’s a train tram in front of sacre coeur that takes you to the cute village area and past La Maison Rose restaurant (which your granddaughters would enjoy! Popular and famous. Book reservation as soon as you can.) Not sure of the train price and if it’s hop on/hop off or you just ride and enjoy and it returns to Sacre Coeur. You could summons a taxi to take you from Sacre Coeur to the restaurant. Then when done summons a taxi on your G7 app to take you back to your hotel. We waited <5 min for our taxis to pick us up. Did this yesterday except for the train. Google info about the train shuttle and definitely use G7 app for transportation to/from the area. (Have your daughter or granddaughters set up the app (it will want to text you a verification code each time) on their phone. It’s very much like the Uber app. Enjoy! Google sacre coeur train and youll find their website and info. Also you can take the funicular down the hill from sacre coeur to the commercial street below with restaurants.

Wonderful information for all of you. I had planned on the taxi option which would be more flexible than finding a guide. I had been there before but maybe it was off-season for the train/tram. I don't remember having that option. I will look into it. Thanks. Pam
