Help Booking Train Tickets Please - OUI.sncf Website

Hi all,

I am booking our train tickets from CDG to Aix-en-Provence for September 6. It seems that the best train for us is

TGV
11:57 AEROPORT CDG2 TGV ROISSY
12:06 MARNE LA VALLEE CHESSY

connecting with:

OUIGO
12:46 MARNE LA VALLEE CHESSY
15:50 AIX EN PROVENCE TGV

OUIGO trains don't seem to be on Trainline or the other easier sites so I amusing OUI.sncf. Do I need the app on my iPhone?

For the first leg, my choices are: Travel with a friend or Select your seats. I am traveling with my husband but since I am booking us together, I assume I click Select your seats, right?

Then, if I click Select your seats, my choices are 1) no preference 2) four club 3) kiosk.

For the second leg, on the OUIGO site, it says I can pay 3 euro to select my seat. I will select two seats together on the top deck but does it matter what car I select? I recall some on this site say certain cars are easier to make transfers.

Also, from Paris to Aix, is the left side or right side better? (Sorry... you all were so helpful with tips when I booked trains in the UK).

Then as I check out, I see the place to add our checked luggage. I understand I will get the two different tickets (TGV and OUIGO) emailed to me at different times so I can print at home. It seems there is an app I should get as well. We will be taking the train a few times during September and October.

Thank you in advance. Any tips are appreciated!

Well shoot! Thanks Ashley! Our flight lands at 8:50 a.m. on a Monday and there aren't many good choices. Would you take a train into Paris and then go from there to Aix?

Yes, you are correct that you do not have a lot of great options given your arrival time, especially if you decide to avoid Ouigo trains. Maybe you could make the 11:51 from Gare de Lyon despite the fact that people usually suggest allowing four hours between arrival time and of your flight and departure time for a train leaving from Paris. That is what I would try to do -- either that or wait at CDG for the 14:57 train.

Also, Ouigo has a 30-min check-in requirement, so the 40 min connection at Marne La Vallée is actually very short. Best to aim for Gare de Lyon, then!

Thanks all!

I’m not apprehensive about taking a OUIGO train. I am mainly concerned about making the train in time at Marne La Vallee Chessy.

If you are not apprehensive about taking the Ouigo, then go for the plan you have. You will have 10 minutes to beat the Ouigo check-in time and that is plenty for that station. I don't think the side of the train will make any difference (assuming that question is based on what the views from the seats will be).

Okay thank you! And we will take Ashley's advice and sit on lower level since we both have a 27" bag.
