Hello from Provence

With the current war and protests worldwide we decided to abort the rest of our time in Morocco but enjoyed what we saw. My Parents and I decided to come to Uzes and stay here for a week in a lovely AirBnb followed by 5, nights in another nice AirBnb by the Papal palace with 3 flights of stairs.

I found a nice Artesinal Bakery in Uzes for 1.70 Euro a Brioche and Espresso 1 Euro Baguettes and friendly staff. My second day there .

Were making Lemons out of Lemonade and booked a flight from Casablanca to Montpiller for $120 a person.

We are taking the TGV INOUI from Avignon TGV to Paris Gare D'Lyon in First Class. I got our seats for $138 per person and flights were $200+ with luggage. I booked my Parents in the Duo Seats and myself in the Single Seat.

I plan to order something onboard and enjoy a better seat than on the airplane. A relaxing 2 hour 40 minute ride.

As Rick says you have to be flexible and find ways to enjoy yourself despite current changes. I registered us in the STEPS program per the US DOT recommendation and we have Travel Insurance .

Bravo Daniel. It doesn't get better than Uzès. Love that place.

I would have chosen to leave, too. In fact, we changed our Christmas trip from Egypt to Rome. We've been to Morocco and will go back to North Africa when the crisis has settled.

Will be in Uzes in March. Do you remember the name or location of the bakery or was Artesinal Bakery its name?

We spent five months in Uzès next to the Place aux Herbes during the pandemic. We had five good bakeries and three good butchers within a five minute walk. Go and try them all.

Artesanal means the bread is made by the bakery, not just finished off factory dough.

The bakery is on the way to Carrefour City Market on the right opposite car park .

We decided to leave Morocco for our own safety. We're off to Avignon on Friday till Wednesday located on Rue Banastire with views of the small square.

I had a great dinner last night at Mon Canteen on Bl.Gambetta very good lasagna ,salad and Ricard for 19 Euros.

Connie please have a talk with your Daughter my Parents asked my Brother to leave too he is in Spain. I am a seasoned traveler and would not take any risks. If anything we would only lose our one way tickets from Casablanca to Orly but I am trying to get refund. We got travel insurance..

Please discuss with your Daughter to find another destination. Air Arabia Maroc had seats for 120 Dollars with luggage to Montpiller. Even Barcelona or Lisbon is an option.

The airports could close at anytime for any reason. I would rather be in the EU.
