Having a health plan in these strange times

In September we will be in Sancerre, Beynac-et-Cazenac, Aix-en-Provence, Lyon. Should the need arise for urgent care and/or prescription medicine for a bad case of covid, what is the advisable approach? Here at home I would call my doctor. But in France should one go first to a pharmacy? or find a local doctor? or just go straight to hospital? Has anyone had an experience like this? Thanks!

It would start at a pharmacy for a test, if positive, they can refer you to a Doctor or public service related to covid.

Chances are it would be isolation, some meds, and anything prescribed by the doctor. If you get worse, they would refer you to a hospital.

Some might choose after a positive test these days to isolate themselves and hope things do not decline, taking home tests to monitor.

It may be worth packing some simple relief OTC meds, like Mucinex and Ibuprofen to have on hand.

Perfect! Thanks for your good advice. I'm identifying a pharmacy in each village/city now so we are prepared.
