Has anyone visited Villa Savoye in Poissy? How did you get there from Paris?

I am a fan of the architect Le Courbousier. His Villa Savoye was something I have studdied in college and remained an inspiratio many years later.

Has anyone visited? How did you get there? Was it worth it?

There is also a Corbusier museum/house in the 16th in Paris which is worth a visit. http://www.fondationlecorbusier.fr/corbuweb/morpheus.aspx?sysName=redirect150&sysLanguage=en-en&IrisObjectId=8286&sysParentId=150

I own a Corbusier style chaise and it is the absolutely most comfortable chair I have ever owned and I did visit the Fondation in Paris . I have a bit of negative attitude towards him for the way he treated Eileen Gray and her masterpiece design at Roquebrune Cap Martin; he both besmirched her design by scrawling his own artwork over the walls when a guest there and allowed people to assume the home next to his famous cabanon was his design.

In this area definitely visit the Eileen Gray house -- it is wonderful.

Hi there

I have been there recently, since my wife loves Corbusier. (to be honest a bit disappointed by the visit, but that is another topic). Anyway. to get there just take the RER A from Paris, specifically take it from Chatelet metro station, since that is a big hub in the center of Paris. Look for the signs RER. Take is in the direction of Poissy - Les Mureaux. It's about half hour to 45 min ride and it leaves every half hour .It costs about 8 bucks. Get off at stop " Houilles Carrières-sur-Seine " . The train has a map right on top of the doorway. But from the train station, you have to walk.

My suggestion is this. Use Google Map from your hotel via the wifi. Set the destination and the walking time. Then, once you get off at the station, just start to walk following google maps, because the location of your phone will follow the path of the set map.

It would take about 10 - 15 min walk from the train station to Villa Savoye
Good luck

Cheers
