We are arranging for lodging in Paris in October, and are trying to stay in a budget of about $150 USD per night. Rick Steves gives the Hotel Bonaparte a 3 stars in his Paris guide book, so that's a good recommendation in itself. But we'd like to hear more comments if there are others out there who have stayed in this hotel. Thanks in advance!!
Yes! I've stayed there twice, once with my husband, and once with my daughter. It is in a great location. I thought it was a two star hotel when we stayed there. It was pleasant to be so close to the St. Sulpice square with its beautiful fountain, Pierre Hermé is right across the street, a Nespresso Boutique is on the same street, and as you walk from the hotel to the river, there are all sorts of wonderful shops and cafés to explore. The room we had ( same room both visits) was fairly plain, with a small fridge and small safe - but the bathtub was luxuriously deep (and narrow) - it was great to soak in the tub after a long day of strolling.
One of our visits was in June, and the other was in February - I do not remember if it has AC or not, but you won't likely need it in October. The gentlemen at the desk were friendly and helpful.
There is a street around the block from the hotel (Rue des Canettes, I think, and runs parallel to Rue Bonaparte) that has good places to eat - some touristy, others that felt less so. We ate at the crepes restaurant twice, Santa Lucia once (and had a lady with her dog next to us), and had café and mousse au chocolate at Café de la Mairie while looking at the fountain one memorable evening.
The only reason I probably wouldn't stay there again is that I'd like to try something new in another area in the city - we were happy both times we stayed there. The price was good in comparison to other hotels in that arrondissement.
