Handicap passes in France

Hubby uses a handicap parking pass as he has mobility issues. Just looked up online and all I can find is info that EU issued passes are required in France. What do we do? Has anyone ever used a North American pass in France? His mobility issues will not magically disappear when we get there so now I'm worried and we leave in a week.

Thank you for any info

Assuming that you can drive, your husband can get out of the car close to your destination and then you can park the car wherever you can find a spot . Your handicap parking placard is unlikely to be honoured in France and your chances of getting a ticket are pretty high if you try it.

Aha, so you are Canadian. Had no idea.

I guess I forgot to mention that. I'm from New Brunswick. My Acadian French will come in handy in France.

You can actually edit your profile to show that.....

Your Acadian French may or may not be helpful.. An Acadian French friend of mine has discovered that when in Paris if he replaces his Acadian accent with a Europen French one, he is treated with more respect. I'll be interested to hear what your experience is. Anyway, have the most wonderful time. Perfect time of the year for France.

We own a motel and I have to change my accent all the time. I do Acadian, Ontario French, Québécois and European French. LOL.
