Half day walking tour guides for Marais

Four of us will be visiting Paris in the first part of September 2023. We are staying in the Marais and are interested in being introduced to it by someone passionate about this part of Paris..it’s’ history, food, culture, etc. Recommendations?

Have you looked at a food tour? We loved Paris Secret Food tour they have one for The Marais, it is small group about 3-4 hours with lot's of walking and learning not only about the local food choices but the history of building, the neighborhood etc. . We learned not only about the food in the neighborhood we chose, Montmartre, but also food culture in general, food sourcing, buying local etc. It was an eye opener for us and helped us make better restaurant choices for the remainder of our time in Paris.

With 4 of you, you might consider booking a private tour with Paris Walks. Several years ago a friend and I had been wanting to do a particular walking tour but it never seemed to happen when we were there. We booked privately and it was well worth the money.

I can vouch for Paris Walks. We have does several and they are excellent. We stayed in the Marais as well, and did one of two that they offered of that area. Another favorite was the Latin Quarter (Hemingway Walks, I believe?). And the Montmartre one is great too! The guides are very knowledgeable and know how to navigate a group.

They do a good job of keeping the group no larger than 15 or so, and sometimes as few as 6..just depends. Around 2 hours, but they sometimes go over a bit. Very reasonable 25 euros per person, you meet at the assigned location and pay on the spot. You don't have to pay ahead time, but do have to reserve ahead of time. If you want to cancel for any reason, you just let them know --there's no penalty to you, so we liked that flexibility.

so many to choose from. saved in my bookmarks, my french basque friend's favorite city is paris so i research and run it by her since she wants to travel next year. 4 years ago i wanted souffles, stopped at la cuisine de philippe, hole in the wall restaurant behind luxembourg garden. walked in at noon when opened, had passion fruit souffle and friend had grand marnier souffle. so so good. check days/hours open, make reservation or walk in if possible
enjoy and have a great time

I second Pariswalks. I took two walking tours and they were great. One of them in the Marais.
