Haircut in Paris

Hi! I am traveling to Paris in a couple weeks and would like to get my haircut on the day we arrive. We get in early in the morning and figured it would be a good day to do something relaxing. Looking for a good ladies salon where having only beginner French won't be a problem. Thanks for any advice!

All I can say is take a picture and look for a place where you can reserve online or look for a chain like Tchip coiffure, Coiff & Co.

Where are you staying? Maybe this place might suit https://www.studiomarisol.com/. One of my neighbors in Paris goes to the one in Le Marais and supposedly there is at least one American expat and one French person who is fluent in English working there so English should not be a problem. I know an American expat who works near Gare St-Lazare and she recommends this place: https://airambiant.fr/, specifically Edouard.

I did this on my very first trip to Paris many years ago. I walked into a little hole in the wall salon somewhere on the Left Bank. No one there spoke English and I spoke little French. I flipped through their hairstyle magazines and saw a style I liked and said “Comme ca?” to the stylist. I was wearing my hair in a shoulder length bob at that time. I had the stylist cut my hair short. I figured that if the cut was awful my hair would grow out. At the time the Vidal Sassoon blow dry haircut was just becoming a thing so you know how long ago that was. It was the best haircut I have ever gotten. It was a great memory and a wonderful experience. Try a different hairstyle while you are there. Don’t do the same old same old. If it’s awful, it will grow out.

Hi from Wisconsin,
I can't help myself. You need to go to Seville for a haircut.

I’ve had my hair cut at Les Coiffeurs de la Rue at 10 rue St Antoine in the Marais.
Cecile cut my hair and she was wonderful, but didn’t speak English. My friend who recommended her also said Julien is very good. The owner does speak English. I was just in there 3 wks ago buying conditioner, the owner sold it to me and he’s very friendly and nice.

It’s a very nice salon and i’m sure anyone working there would do a good job.
