Does anyone have any recommendations for a driver or guide that can take us to Isle sur la Sorgue for the Sunday markets then to St. Remy for a couple of hours before heading back to Avignon? IWe know Isle is easy enough to get to by train, but St. Remy without a car makes it more difficult.
The market in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is huge. I wouldn't want to guess how much time any visitor would want to spend there, but I assume it would be hours rather than minutes. Keeping a taxi while you're browsing the market could be quite expensive, and the same for your time in St.-Remy. One cost-saving option would be to take the train to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and just use a driver/taxi from L'Isle to St-Remy.
There are four afternoon buses on Sundays (they're much more frequent on weekdays) from St-Remy to Avignon. I hope this is the current schedule; I don't see an effective date anywhere: https://www.lepilote.com/ftp/document/fh-1057-020117-300417-dec16.pdf
Rome2Rio.com lists three taxi companies as possibilities for the L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue to St-Remy leg; I don't know how accurate the information is.

Great info. Thank you so much!
Well, here's a question. Is St. Remy worth all the effort to get there? The thing that probably interests us the most is the Van Gogh connection, but other than that, not familiar with St. Remy at all. The attraction to Isle was the market.
The taxi suggestion is what I had in mind.
To answer your question: St Rémy also has some Roman ruins at Glanum, just south of town (walkable). Otherwise, it is a cute town, but if you do not go you will not miss that much IMO.
No Van Gogh, but if you find yourself back in Avignon in the early afternoon with a few hours to spare after the Isle-sur-la-Sorgue market, and do not want to just stay in Avignon, you could head across the Rhone to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon (bus or inexpensive taxi). Cool castle there, and a great view of Avignon!
