Guide book recommendation for Corsica

Hello, it’s been about 20 years since we were last in Corsica and would like to plan a return. My old guide book is a Michelin (don’t think they publish still?) - wondering if anyone has a current recommendation? I’ve seen DK and lonely planet mentioned here in older posts. We have a general idea of what we’d like to return to and what we’d like to explore more - but would like to consult other (more updated) resources as well. And last time we took a ferry - this time flying seems much better timewise based on our other travel plans . I might be mistaken but the ferry times seem longer than when I took it last, at least from Savona. Thanks.

We used a DK guidebook when we went tho that was now seven years ago. Flying is easy but depends where you are coming from and where you want to go. I know of at least three airports- Bastia in the north, Ajaccio in the centre/west, and Figari in the south. Note that many of the flights are seasonal.

Thanks Cat - yes I see Lufthansa has direct from Munich to Bastia on weekends which works well for our overall plans.. We would stay at least a week basing out of one / maybe two locations so flying in and out of Bastia works . I’d prefer basing only out of one place (we want to stay at the same place we stayed last visit) but it’s on the southeast side and would like to explore more of the west side this time ..(looks like driving would be a lot without actually staying there for even a few nights). Last time we had an infant baby so stayed close to a few favorite beaches in the Porto vecchio area and visited nearby towns (Bonifacio) but now can explore much more of the island :)

Michelin is still publishing its Corsica Green Guide with a 2025 edition (it's in French, but it's manageable with a little common sense)

The "Guide du Routard" is very popular and as well known in France as the Michelin Guide. You can see the sticker with the guy wearing a globe-shaped backpack in recommended restaurants and hotels. It also has a 2025 edition and even an updated one for 2026. It is always very comprehensive with maps, itineraries, activities, hotel and restaurant recommendations, etc.

You can definitely see a lot in a week! When we went it was for a week and we stayed in Bastia, Corte, Ajaccio, and Bonifacio. We hired a car. If you’re staying in Bastia I would definitely also check out Corte- very charming town and great hiking nearby. Good luck with your planning!
