We ate two times at the best-rated Bocuse restaurant (L'Est), and while that was good, we have found something a lot better. It is called La Toscane, and it is an Italian restaurant with a French flair. It is on rue Duquesne, not that far from the Parc de la Tete d'Or. I had a wonderful risotto with lemon and octopus (I am not an octopus fan, but with this risotto I would have eaten it if it had contained an old boot). The chef is French, but loves Italian cooking. Prices are moderate - I think the "menu" was about 28 Euros, for dinner. quite a small place, so a reservation would probably be in order.
By the way, my wife and I lived in Italy for two years, so we are well acquainted with good Italian food (not the stuff you generally get in the U.S.). This food was on a par with what we got in Italy at good restaurants. Peter
