We are thinking of spending 3 weeks in Grasse end of April through mid-May. We have done research and we like the location, activities, access to other appealing areas but would love anyone's experiences and recommendations in that area. Thank you
I loved Grasse. However it can get really hot in summer and you have to drive to Cannes to find a beach.
I'm a regular to the Cote d'Azur and have visited Grasse, in winter and in summer.
I, too, noticed that it gets warm there. We solved our problem with ice cream at the Mc-Drive McDonalds. Not high class but cheap and cold.
I'd honestly never considered staying more than a day up in the hills there. I don't know if the constant flow of tourist cars, buses and off the trains all heading to the perfume shops and displays would drive me batty. Personally I like Monaco and the small towns along the water between Nice and Monaco.
Let us know how you enjoyed your 3 weeks there, and how you found visiting the neighboring towns went.
I presume you will have a car? While the public bus systems along the coast, and particularly between Monaco and Nice, are excellent, they tend to peter out a bit up in the hills. If I set up residence up there I'd have a car.
