I'm keen to take my daughter to France for a high-school graduation present. Her mother wants to return to the Loire Valley. I want to hike some segments of the GR3 long-distance trail there, but want to return to a home base after a day out. What segments are best for this? Keep in mind we'll need to end in a place with a train station (I want to base in Tours, Blois or Orleans). We want pastoral scenery and, this being the Loire, castles.
Also, would it take long to hike the GR3 through the Foret d'Orleans?
