Traveling from Switzerland en route to Paris by train in August and have 3-4 nights to stay somewhere along the way. Looking for suggestions on great towns or villages. Must be along the train route. Merci and Danke.

Depends on where you are leaving from Switzerland and what type of route you are looking for (high speed or direct or just accessible via train). If from Geneva consider Dijon or Beaune. If from Zurich or Basel consider Alsace (Strasbourg, Colmar) or in the Champagne region, Reims. I haven't been to Dijon, but I've been to the rest and all were enjoyable.

I was going to give the same answer as above; it depends on where in Switzerland. We're stopping in Colmar for a few days on the way from Basel.

We just spent 5 nights in Alsace before visiting the Berner Oberland. I think it would be a great stop if it connects well to your destination in Switzerland.
