Google Maps on a Samsung S7 with Verizon

Is it possible to use Google Maps with Verizon Wireless in France for Directions? We are spending three weeks in France and Driving to several regions.

Yes, it's possible, but it's not what I'd recommend because of the cost. Google Maps navigation is fairly data intensive, and getting a big enough data allowance can be expensive. We just use the same Garmin GPS that we use at home. I just buy the SD card on Amazon that covers our destination country (about $55) and that's the total cost.

I probably need a new Garmin, mine does not accept the SD card

There's another option:

If your S7 has a good deal of storage, you can download offline maps of where you're going, then use location finding/GPS funtionality to track your way while you're off-line. That way, you're not sucking down huge amounts of data when roaming through France.

Here's one service that lets you download maps locally when you're on a WiFi and use them later when you're off-line:

Just got a new SD cad for France for my Garmin; have also downloaded Maps/regions of France to my Samsung S7. Appreciate all the advice. It's been very helpful

I plan to use CoPilot (another navigation app). I downloaded the US version and found that it works reasonably well and uses virtually no data. You download the maps while you have WiFi access, then it navigates using the phone's own ability rather than constantly needing data.

I still need to download maps for France on my phone before my trip. It's about $25 (I think for all of Western Europe).
