I'll fly from the US to Paris in mid-December and fly back on Christmas. I just noticed my US passport will expire on 3/14/2024. Will I have trouble? https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/France.html says "At least three months beyond date of departure from the Schengen area." What does that mean? Thank you!
What is the date that you plan to leave France?
Add three months to it.
Is that date before or after March 14 ?
If before, you're okay.
If after, they won't let you in.
You need to renew. Now.
"At least three months beyond date of departure from the Schengen
area." What does that mean?
It means that your passport needs to be valid for at least three months beyond the date you depart from the Schengen area. So if you plan to leave the Schengen area on e.g. December 26th, your passport needs to be valid for at least three months more.
So you need to get a new passport, or you will probably be denied boarding.
Thank you all! Looks like I have to renew my passport now. Thanks!
When you renew(do it immediately) pay for the expedited service. You need speed in this.
Yes renew it right away and pay for.expedited service and express.return delivery.
