Hello, would anyone be so kind as to offer good advice for finding gluten free menu options at local restaurants?
Hi! I just returned from a 2 week stay in France, and I too am a gluten free diner. I'm happy to report that you will have many options to choose from! I don't know if you've ever been to France, (this was my first time), but I can say that their food is divine! Please do not feel that you will be missing out on their wonderful food because you, too will enjoy the passion and flavors that everyone else will be enjoying as well! For me, I chose to stick with the basics...minimally processed foods as possible. I speak a little bit of French, so that did help when reading the menus or talking with the wait staff. When reading ingredient labels, look for sans gluten. When you are at a restaurant, and most everyone in France speaks English, explain to the them that you are needing food without gluten (sans gluten) and they will do their best to accommodate. Here are a few websites that I reviewed prior to my visit there.

I hope you have a wonderful time as I did while visiting France! The people are very nice and accommodating. I cannot wait to go back.
Safe travels,
Luonna
"... most everyone in France speaks English ...." Sorry., but this is not true, so lower your expectations. Even in Paris you will encounter people with no English at all so don't be thinking they are refusing to speak your language.
