Glamaparis (aka Glam@Paris)

Planning our first trip to Paris in June, found a VRBO one bedroom in the Saint Germain des Pres area that I'm excited about, but VRBOs always make me just a little nervous, seems like 9 times out of 10 its a great experience, but I'm worried about that 1 time casting a shadow over the trip. This rental is through Glamaparis (aka Glam@Paris). Has anyone ever dealt with this company? Positive or negative feedback?
Thanks so much!

do they provide the required 13 digit number on all the ads for all their properties?

I know VRBO but have never heard of this other agency.

I find it interesting that the apartment listing did not include the registration number. Did you find it online? The law requires all online listings to include a registration number. Strange that a company would have it and not include it which means they will lose all the people that would rent but will not even go any further if they do not see the number and also why disobey this rule if you have the number? It makes me wonder about the company -- either they do not know that the number is required in the listing or they do not care to comply with applicable regulations. Either way would make me question doing business with them. But anyway on to experience with the agency. Mine is second-hand but I am aware of a friend of a friend who used the agency about 3 years ago and came back from Paris in love with the city and the entire experience and planning to return. She recommends the agency all the time so my guess is that she did not have any problems with the agency or the apartment.

Okay, your feedback concerned me so I went back and looked at the VRBO website- the registration number is listed, I just hadn't seen it the first time. It seems like there are positive reviews online, both for this property and for other properties rented by this management company, and thank you JHK for the word of mouth review... I think we're going to take a risk and be trusting here. It's not much more expensive than many of the hotels I was checking out, and it would be so great to have a little more space, and the option for a kitchen!

Great to hear that the listing had the registration number from the beginning. That makes more sense. The person I mentioned in my other response stayed in an apartment near the Louvre and was thrilled with the entire process. The agency is apparently not a budget choice and is along the lines of Haven in Paris and according to her offered very good service. Be sure to check the pictures and descriptions carefully if the kitchen is important for you. Kitchens in Paris vacation rentals can be described for lack of a better word as limited.

Yes, based on the photos of the kitchen I wiuld describe it at rudimentary at best! I don’t envision cooking gourmet meals by any means, but just having a washing machine (no dryer, of course), refrigerator and coffee machine will be nice. Now that I feel reassured about the registration number and positive experiences, I’m excited about this place!

hey elizabeth
glad all worked well with apartment. don't know how long you are staying, you will have a fabulous time. give yourself time to sit at a cafe with a glass of vino and appetizer, relax, people watch and enjoy. lots to see and do. we always stay in an apartment, more space and some amnenities we like. i always bring laundry soap/pod, coffee, my creamer and a corkscrew. being in a new place, it's my essentials instead of wondering around looking for a store, some don't agree. we do buy bread/pastry drinks, fruit, salami, cheese and wine, paper towels/napkins to enjoy in apt. love shopping in their small stores and you can always get take away to bring back.
any more questions the forum will help you out as you can see with good bad and ugly, want to enjoy not be stressed before the fun begins. your research will do wonders.
