Hello! I would like to see Giverny, including house and grounds, Restaurant Baudy and Impressionist Museum this summer. It seems that tours from Paris do not include all of the above, and private tours start at $600.00, which is more than a night at my hotel! Does anyone have a recommendation for how to manage this easily? I cannot stand/walk for a long time due to health, and I worry that the train would be too long a day for me.
Have you looked at Paris City Vision? It is a tour operator, not a third party broker. I took a tour with them that included Giverny, the Impressionist Museum, as well as Auvers-sur-Oise. It was an all day small group tour in a mini-van and we were picked up at our apartment door. It was around 200 euros and included lunch at a charming old mill in the country. It was a really fun day. Whatever you do, be sure to book directly with the tour operator, not with a broker like Viator.
Thank you! I had never booked a tour before and was not sure where to start... Did your tour seem rushed? So many tours discourage people with mobility issues from joining, and I wasn’t sure if it was due to having to rush/walk without rest or due to having no room for a wheelchair/scooter.
Actually, the tour didn't seem rushed at all. We entered through the gate for groups, which goes right into the area around the pond. It was extremely crowded. We had well over an hour, in the garden with time to shop in the nice boutique and to have coffee at a nearby cafe before going to the Impressionist Museum. There is a steep hill in Auvers-sur-Oise up to the cemetery where Van Gogh is buried, but our driver was very accommodating and offered to drive us up there. Lunch was at an old mill somewhere between the two sites. It was very picturesque and the food was pretty good. I had been to Giverny twice before, so the reason I picked this tour is because it included Auvers-sur-Oise. Paris City Vision may have tours that go only to Giverny.
