Giverny on a Strike Day

I'm trying to find a way to embrace the strike days and use them to our advantage. Is it safe to assume that Giverny will be less crowded on a strike day? Surely on non strike days more people will be flooding to the gardens, right? Perhaps I could rent a car and explore the gardens and surrounding villages. Traffic should be manageable as I would be driving away from the center in the morning and towards the center in the evening. Am I missing any key factors that would make this a terrible idea? Any advice you have would be most appreciated.

No matter when, spring at Giverny brings crowds. Even though trains aren't running, tour buses are. Traffic on strike days in any direction is a mess. If you're in Paris where the buses and metros are running, strike days are a good time to explore. The parc Floral for instance.

Thanks! Good point about the tour busses, increased traffic, etc.
