Is August a good time to see Giverny? I figured earlier in the summer is probably better but we will be in France this August and are staying not too far. Are there other off the beat and path things we should not miss outside of Paris in the area? Thank you!
It will be crowded and likely hot, but it's as good a time as any in the summer.
Where "not too far" are you staying? That would help with suggestions; but there are many places worth visiting in Normandy if that is the area you are considering. How are you getting around?
Yes, all of Europe busy in August but, that’s when we can go. We are staying in Versailles. Thanks!
I went in August and it was lovely. However that was 10 years ago and things are much more crowded now. Go as early as possible in the morning (when they open) to avoid the worst of both the crowds and the heat. I loved the flowers in August, a combination of summer flowers and autumn flowers.
