We'll be in Paris on June 29 and 30 and would like to visit Giverny. When I checked Rome2Rio the directions to get there seemed long and a bit complicated. We do not have a car and plan to rely on public transport, namely bus and/or train. Is it possible to get there and back to Paris with time in between travelling left to enjoy the visit? Thank you! Faith
I did a day trip by train from Paris first to Giverny (train to Vernon) and then continued on to Rouen on the same train north...and then took the train back to Paris in the evening. There's are shuttle buses between the Vernon station and Giverny.
We did a Fat Tire Bike tour and really enjoyed it! Includes (train) transportation from Paris to Giverny. Check it out!

My husband and I just did this trip a little over a week ago. Here’s his post with of information about transportation to Giverny from Paris:

We had a spectacular day there- it was well worth he trip!
It is dead easy -- train to Vernon from Gare St. Lazare; shuttle bus to Giverny meets the train; step lively as it does sometimes fill up; pay on board for the round trip shuttle ticket. Get tickets ahead so you don't wait in a long line on site.
sometimes Rome2Rio spouts some real garbage.
It is a simple journey.
Always double check anything from Rome2Rio. Always.
