I want to see Monet's house. Is this a relaxed day trip from Paris? What is it like in November and what time of day should I go this time of year?

Yes, I'd say it is a pretty relaxed trip from Paris.
An easy short train ride from Gare Paris Saint-Lazare (the only station serving trains going in that direction) to the town of Vernon. You could bicycle, take a taxi, or a bus timed to meet the train right to the village of Giverny and a stop at the Garden and House.
Going back, the same in reverse.
