Giverney in late March

We will be in Paris the end of March and want to visit Giveney, preferably with a tourand guide. The website says it opens on March 24th but all the tour sites I am finding do not start their tours till April 1st which is the day we fly home.

anyone have any ideas on a tour company or guide that might be willing to work with us??

I'm not sure why you need a tour and guide. It's an easy train ride from Paris to Vernon and then a bus to Giverny. It's possible that the dedicated bus that meets all trains doesn't start until April 1, I'm not sure about that but someone here may have that information for you. If not, I would think you could get a taxi from the train station, it's only a couple of miles from Giverny. The garden and house don't really need a guide to enjoy.

EDIT - looks like the shuttle bus from Vernon train station to Giverny started on March 26, 2016, don't see any 2017 schedule yet.

The gardens are listed as being open on 24 March 2017.

Here is the website which will give you everything you need to know, including which flowers are blooming and how the navettes work.

Direct trains are available to Vernon (Giverny) on 24 March.

If the navettes aren't running for some reason, you could walk to the gardens, it isn't far. You will not need a guide if you do some research and download a map of the gardens and Monet's house.

I am going to Paris the same week with my wife and 18 year old daughter and we are considering visiting Giverny, most likely on March 28th. I posted our itinerary in a RS Travel Forum last week and one reply suggested it was not worth visiting Giverny that early in the spring. Do others feel the same way?

The house is so small, its hard to see what a guide would add to the experience.

christschieder, I love Giverny and think it is worth going any time of year. We will be in Paris in February and I'm heartbroken Giverny will be closed.
