Gite in Provence

We want to book a gite for 2 people near Arles or St Remy at the end of April. Can anyone suggest a clean and comfortable gite? The Rick Steves book lists la Domaine de la Forest- a country place with 2 bed room apartments where "mosquitoes may be a problem." I would like to know if anyone who has stayed there can comment on the property, including the mosquitoes.

I don't have any information about that specific gite, but I suggest you check the Gites de France website - I've linked to the English-language site. You can put in your dates and other specifications; you'll probably need to rent for a full Saturday-Saturday week if you want your own gite, rather than a B&B. I find the map view is the easiest way to review a lot of options. We rented a gite in the Loire valley last October; we were only there 5 nights but it was cheaper than hotels and we really enjoyed having our own kitchen for breakfast and dinner. Happy planning, and have a great trip!

I did a thorough search for 2 Bedroom Gites in this area for my upcoming trip. I searched VRBO for all Gites within Provence, sorted by review count and weeded them down based on rating and price into two categories - (1) with pool and (2) without pool. Here are the ones that rose to the top. Please note that I've not stayed at any of these - this only represents a database search.

We checked VRBO for our trip last fall, too, and found prices generally were significantly lower on Gites. Also, I just did a quick check on one place near Cabannes, northwest of Cavaillon, and you can rent it for 2, 3, or 7 nights, not just a full week.
