We will be arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport on Air France on June 11. What is the best way to get to the TGV train station? We will be taking the train to Avignon. Someone told us that the walk from the airport to the TGV takes 40 minutes. We will have
limited time and have travelled many hours. Is there a shuttle, bus or taxi to take? If so, which is the best way to go.
If you mean the TGV station in the airport at CDG Terminal 2, see the airport map. It's a large airport and definitely takes time to cross, of course depending at which terminal you arrive. (If you need to get to Paris Gare de Lyon in the city center, then Les Cars Air France bus #4 goes directly there.)
You need at least 3 hours between landing and train from CDG and 4 if your train if from Paris. Expect it to take about an hour to get through immigration and then another hour to gather baggage and find the train station. The third hour is recommended because planes often are late, luggage goes astray and the time spent in immigration can be quite variable -- anywhere from 15 minutes (rare) to 90 minutes. An hour is a good expectation.
