Train from Gare St Lazare to Vernon- Giverny. Use the SNCF website for schedules and prices. There is a shuttle from the station to the garden entrance €10 return.

Visit the official website for info on the house and gardens:

A few words of advice: simple to ride the train from from Paris to Vernon (station nearest Giverny). May be simple or not so simple to get from Vernon station to Giverny. In May 2025, I arrived at Vernon station around 9:00 a.m. expecting to find 3 transportation options to the garden: 1. taxi 2. local bus 3. "Le Petit train". Instead, there were no taxis or local bus. "Le Petit train" was the only option if I didn't wait to wait. "Le Petit Train" is comprised of about 8 open air carts pulled at slow speed by a driver, sort of like a carnival ride for children. The problem was that although I had not dawdled while walking through the small Vernon station, all of the "Le Petit Train's" cars were full by the time I got there. The only reason I got a space was because payment in cash was required, and several passengers had no cash and exited the cars.

If the shuttle buses are not there when you arrive they soon will be so you can wait a few minutes for them.

You can also download the BOLT ride share app. I went with friends who used this going to/coming back from Giverny and it worked really well. It was about 15E each way whereas the shuttle bus (painted with waterlilies so you can't miss it) was 10E return.

I'll add that you do not need to buy your train ticket to Vernon until the day of. It's a local train and does not sell out. Download the SNCF app and purchase with that. DO look at the schedule ahead of time and pick one of the direct trains in the AM. I think I took the 10:11 and had time for lunch before my 1:30 timed entry to the gardens.

DO get your garden ticket ahead of time.

The advantage to using Bolt with friends is that there is no per person charge. We had 7 people so it required 2 cars.
