My daughter and I are hiking parts of the TMB in June. We were planning on Hiking from Tres Le Champ and doing the ladder section. Then hiking to La Flegere and taking the cable car down and bus to Brevant- cable car up and then hike to Les Houches. The cable car is going to be closed this summer. Is there any other way getting to Brevant other than hiking down? We have a time issue so were going to shave off time by cabling down some legs of the trip. How long is the hike to Brevant from La Flegere? Thanks

You might get an answer here but it's not really a hiking forum. I think you'll do better on the Thorntree (Lonely Planet) forum. I did a sample search for TMB under the France country forum and there were some posts so that might be a good place to ask this question. Just a suggestion.
