Hello. I was told yesterday that the best way to get from the city center to the airport is to walk to the train terminal and get a taxi, which will be lined up outside the station. Is this correct? It’s certainly doable, but I’d like input before I head that way with my luggage tomorrow. Thank you for any guidance you can offer!
I'm afraid I don't have much detail but there is an airport bus. My other half has had to spend a lot of time in Toulouse lately and returned to the airport by taking the metro to Compans-Caffarelli (line B) and the bus from there. I suspect the bus starts its journey elsewhere, perhaps Matabiau, but he starts his journey elsewhere on line B.
There is a shuttle service from Toulouse to the airport. It costs €9.
Since you haven't mentioned where you're staying in Toulouse, it's impossible to say if this will be the "best way," especially since "best way" is always subjective.
Check the schedule and route for this shuttle. There are four stops in the city center (including Matabiau train station).

Thank you for the responses. I’m staying at Place du Capitole and would prefer the easiest way to the airport.
It's about a 10-minute walk from Place du Capitole to the nearest shuttle bus stop, which is Jeanne d'Arc.

If this doesn't seem "easiest" for you, don't bother, just take a taxi, it should cost around €25.
See if the hotel can call you a taxi, otherwise, since the Place du Capitole area is partially pedestrianized, you will probably have to walk a little to reach a place with taxis.
JoLui, this s helpful information. Thank you. I don’t mind walking at all. My biggest concern with using public transportation was that I’ll have my carryon as well as a backpack. I’ll wander over to the bus stop today to make sure I can find it and understand how to purchase a ticket.
It should be fine with the shuttle bus. The Jeanne d'Arc bus stop is here (where there are two people waiting with their suitcases), right next to the BOHEBON restaurant.
You can pay directly on the bus with your contactless credit card, smartphone, or smartwatch.

And here's the shuttle bus in front of the bus stop:
The bus and train in Toulouse are super easy to use. Just buy a ticket at the automated machine. it does translate to English. I've used the 10 trip tickets the last two times i visited. Costs about 1.5 euro per trip. I used a cab to, and from, the airport to my hotel.
