Getting from Monaco/Eze back to Cannes at night--public transit or car rental?

Does anyone know how late into the evening the trains and buses from Eze run? My husband and I will be staying in Cannes for several days in June, and I'm planning a day trip, spending the morning in Monaco and then Eze in the afternoon, ending with a lovely hilltop dinner before returning to Cannes. I'm worried if we have dinner around 8pm that there won't be any buses or trains to take us back and we'll be stuck with a very expensive Uber. Would it be wiser to rent a car for the day, or is parking in Monaco and Eze a nightmare? This would be on either a Friday or Saturday in June if that makes a difference in transportation schedules.
Thanks!

I believe the last buses to the bottom of the hill (and the train station) ends before then, and even the bus to Nice (for a transfer) also ends before your dinner may end. You could also invert your trip and do lunch in Eze instead. There isn't a whole lot to see, unless you are driving. If you do drive, continue up to La Turbie and see the Trophee des Alpes (or the tete du chien).

I would not recommend driving into Monte Carlo.

Did it once. Hair-raising. Never again.

What you have planned sounds lovely. I drove the corniche (one of them) about 20 years ago. The views are stunning. If you want beautiful views, take the bus over the train. The bus will go to Monaco and Eze, I'm just not sure which one. If you want to get into the casino, you'll need your passport and pay a fee. The time of year you'll be in the south of france will be crowded, for sure. You'd be better off with an Uber or taxi after Eze. The other option would be to plan the dinner for another time. BTW, how much time were you planning for Monaco and for Eze. Eze, as beautiful as it is, probably deserves, maybe 2 hours max. It's very small. https://wanderingcarol.com/village-of-eze-france/
