Getting a health pass in Nice

I'm arriving in Nice on Oct. 3 and staying for 6 days before going on a cruise.

As I understand it, the French national health pass is required for entry into restaurants, museums, etc. According to a NY Times article I just read, it has been difficult for Americans in Provence to convert their CDC vaccination card into the health pass.

Does anyone have experience with this in Nice (technically, the Cote d'Azur)? Does one have to go to a pharmacy to do this?

And maybe you will get it. I'm leaving Wednesday and I applied two weeks ago and no luck. I'll let you know if pharmacies will do it, BUT there are big signs saying they are no longer offering this service. Hopefully passport and CDC card will be taken...

This system is only open to non-European tourists who are already in France or who will arrive on or before 22 August 2021. Requests concerning arrival at a later date will be processed later.

Apparently, they haven't updated the site yet. Otherwise, I'd do it right away. The New York Times article said that in Paris getting the health pass (from a local pharmacy) was no problem. But it's best to be on the safe way and try to get it before arrival.

There was a brief shining moment when at least a few travelers found a pharmacist willing to help them out, but I believe that was shut down pretty quickly.

I just received mine this morning, after arrival, and after having resubmitted. Previously only my spouse got their before departure.

All what I've heard is that the pharmacies are no longer exchanging passes, but I am not 100% certain. I've heard from other friends/acquaintainces they've had no problems using their CDC card, still, during this time of transition..

"In order to facilitate the stay of non-European tourists in France, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs set up a specific mechanism, since 9 August 2021 for issuing a COVID vaccine certificate of equivalence which is valid on French territory.

This system is only open to non-European tourists who are already in France or who will arrive on or before 31 August 2021. Requests concerning arrival at a later date will be processed later."

It looks like they're rolling the health pass certificates for non-Europeans on a week-to-week basis. So applying now is too early for September or October arrivees.
