They are closing forever September 23rd. I’ve read the views are spectacular. Do we need reservations to go just for cocktails? Is there an area you can stand if no room at the bar?
Maybe we should just make dinner reservations.

George’s website says “reservations required” so that’s probably prudent.
You don't need dinner or drinks at the Centre Pompidou to enjoy the view. Just head up to level 6 if you are there before the building closes for renovation.
There are many places to enjoy the views in Paris
Have you been to the Pantheon? The views from the Panorama include the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur.
The views from the Arc de Triomphe, while not as stunning as the Pantheon IMO, looks down the Champs Elysee in one direction and out to the Grande Arche de la Defense.
The Windo Skybar in the Hyatt Regency Etoile will give you Eiffel Tower views.
These are just a few spots to take in the views.
Hi Jean, it will be our night of arrival and we are staying in Le Marais. Since I can usually go until about 9 at night that first night, I want to stay in Le Marais.
If you don't do George's, here are a couple others nearby that would be nice at sunset in September.
The BHV department store on rue de Rivoli has a rooftop bar. It changed hands in in the past year, so I don't know what it's like now.
Also, just across the Seine, la Tour d'Argent has le Toit for drinks with a view of Notre Dame and the Seine. I believe you can reserve here.
Thank you!
