Geneva or another day in Paris

My partner and I will be in France in mid-March. Our primary destination is 5 days Chamonix since we are serious snowboarders. This means we'll be traveling with more luggage than typical, including an oversized ski bag that that stresses me out. We hope to arrange day trips to Italy and Switzerland from Chamonix, but that will be dependent on snow conditions, mood, convenience, etc.

We'll be flying in and out of Paris and had planned to spend 2 days in Paris on arrival and another overnight there before our flight home. And we also planned to spend a day in Geneva. But now I'm second guessing and wonder if a third day in Paris would be easier and more rewarding than Geneva.

The pros of and extra night in Paris are: Less stress of travel and more time to see Paris, perhaps even getting comfortable and more familiar with it.

The pros of Geneva: Seeing a new city and a new country.

Any tips?

There's plenty of magic to see in Paris - you won't even begin to scratch the surface. I wouldn't add on another journey somewhere else (with such a short time at play) to say I'd been there.

@ Perry, I've been to Geneva and the Jet d' Eau was turned off for the winter I believe. If there is a tour in winter, what does it cover?

@ Jack, I would second the people's opinions who say to add another quality day to Paris rather than 1 night in Geneva. However if you can fly into Paris and out of Geneva that might give you the opportunity to spend a day in Geneva at the end of your snowboarding vacation.

Thanks Everyone,
Sounds like most people are in the quality over quantity camp when it comes to which stops to make.

We'd originally planned to fly through Geneva and Paris wasn't on our itinerary at all. But it turns out our airline doesn't fly to Geneva in the winter, and our whole trip is made possible by a travel voucher on that airline. So Paris it is!

You could organise some day trip with the compagny Mont Blanc Bus. They have allways some proposal to go one day in Italia or Swiss!!

One more day in Paris for sure. There is always something more to do there.

By all means give Paris an extra day. We toured Geneva 2 years ago at the end of a week in Switzerland and did not find that much to do or see there.
